Focused Instruction

Have you ever tried to teach a three-year-old anything? It can be a daunting task. Well, have you ever tried to teach a three-year-old calculus or physics? Sound ridiculous? We agree. That's why we teach the Bible to our members on their level. We don't "dumb down" anything and we don't water down anything, but we do teach our people truth that applies to their lives where they live right now. We do this through a variety of ways.
  • Age-Graded Sunday School: Starting with the Two's and Three's and going through our adult classes, our Sunday School is divided by the age of the student. Of course, the student's grade level plays a part in class assignment as well, but typically the age of the student classifies him/her. Our teachers are experienced and prepared to teach all of our students the Word of God with accuracy and application. Our students are challenged with memorizing, meditating, and living out the truths which they are taught. Our classes include the Nursery, Two's and Three's, Pre-Primary, Primary, Junior, Junior High, Senior High, Couples' Class, and the Mease Memorial Class. Each class is designed to meet the student where he/she is and help them grow in Christlikeness.
  • Discipleship Sessions: On the second Sunday of each month (September through April) we offer discipleship sessions for every age group represented in our church. Our Nursery is given great watchcare by diligent and faithful ladies. Our children, ages 4-11, are taught and challenged by some of our college students and/or single young adults. They meet in Nutting Auditorium. Our teens meet in Pastor Horne's study. During their discipleship session, they are taught from the Word or they are involved in serving in various ways. In our Titus 2 Ladies class, the ladies study the Scripture together or study through other books written to aid them in their spiritual lives. Likewise, our men meet for Faithful Men in the Senior High classroom and are encouraged and held accountable to grow via book or Bible studies.
