Evangelistic Endeavors

At MHIBC we are committed to taking the gospel of Jesus Christ to the community and world around us. Though just a part of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20), this is where we must begin. To honor God by doing our part to bring men to maturity requires we do our part to bring men to Christ and allow God to give the increase.

Below are some ways we "flesh out" our commitment to obey this command.
  • Quarterly Outreaches:  Once every quarter, we gather as a local church and take gospel literature and our own testimonies to the community of our church or that of one of our members. We have been blessed by God to see fruit from our efforts in this endeavor.
  • Evangelistic Services:  Though you hear and are confronted with the gospel every time you sit in one of our services, we have special services with an evangelistic theme at various times of the year. Sometimes these services will follow one of our quarterly outreaches. Holidays such as Easter and Christmas provide an excellent opportunity to preach the gospel to those who might not otherwise be in church.

  • Annual Bike Rodeo Adventure:  Every year we invite children and their parents to our Bike Rodeo. Children compete among their age group in various "on-your-bike" races and events. The race is sometimes against other competitors and sometimes against the clock. In the rotation of events we have the most important "Gospel Stop" where one of our men teach the children about the Author and Finisher of our faith.
  • Children's Carnival Outreach:  With booths manned by teens and adults who have demonstrated a Christian testimony, we invite children to participate in various games for candy and other special treats. Of course, we encourage and require each child to have a parent/guardian with him/her in an effort to get them in the doors of the church. Half way through our night, we take a refreshment break and someone will lead the children through the gospel and offer an invitation for the children to respond to the gospel message.
  • Farmfest Youth Rally:  Each fall, we challenge our teens (Grades 7-12) to invite their unsaved and/or unchurched friends to Harvest Acres in Greer, SC where Bob Jones University hosts its annual Farmfest Youth Rally. At this active farm, a number of activities keep the teens moving and active. These activities are scheduled around three worship services aimed at evangelizing the lost and edifying the believer. It is a full, long day, but is a day enjoyed by all. Most importantly, it is a tool we have utilized in making and maturing disciples out of our own teens and those whom they invite.
