Theological Commitments

At MHIBC, we strive to have meaningful purpose behind everything we do. Seeing our ministry as a great stewardship privilege and responsibility, we do not look to ourselves to find the purpose. Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church has already given us our purpose -- to make and mature disciples -- and His Word gives us the theology behind our methodology. Essentially, everything we do stems from one of four theological commitments.

Evangelistic Endeavors: By the aid of the Holy Spirit of God, and trusting Him completely to do that which pleases Him, we endeavor to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to all with whom we come into contact.

Corporate Fellowship: Proverbs 27:17 tells us that as "iron sharpens iron" believers are to sharpen the "countenance" of other believers. Close fellowship with other members of MHIBC and other believers affords great opportunities of growth for each of us.

Individual Discipleship: As believers in unredeemed flesh, we all struggle with sin. In fact, if we weren't struggling, we'd be losing the fight. When a believer struggles and needs more help, we offer it. One on one discipleship was practiced by our Lord with His disciples and commanded by our Lord in His Word.

Focused Instruction: While individual discipleship is often done one-on-one, focused instruction is done in small, specific groups and is meant to give pertinent, applicable truth to apply to the life of the believers in the group for growth and change.
